Our Dining Experience And Food For The Day

When we sat down, first thing to arrive was an interestingly presented array of papadums. From the on set you could see they pay close attention to food presentation.

First two dishes to arrive were Spinach Soup with Cottage Cheese and Paani Poori Shots. The spinach soup was beautifully presented in a small pot that also kept it hot throughout. It was really creamy with a slight hint of truffle. We really enjoyed it, but also would have loved to have a slice of toast to accompany it so we could lick the pot clean!

Paani Poori is a type of snack that originated in India and is a very common street food. My partner really enjoyed Jhann’s Paani Poori Shots filled with fresh yogurt, chopped shallots, tomatoes and cucumbers. They were crunchy and light. An excellent dish to freshen up your pallet for dishes to come.

Next appetizer to come was Soft Shell Crab. Seafood lovers will want to dive right in to enjoy this! Scrumptiously fried and touched with buttermilk aioli and fried dried chili!

For the main course we had incredibly tender Sizzling Lamb, marinated in ground Indian spices and served on a sizzling hot plate. As well as being flavourful, the lamb itself was cooked to perfection. Once again presentation was also superb and you feel a small drool coming the second its placed in front of you! The accompaniment of a yoghurt mint sauce was an excellent addition.

Next to arrive was very fragrant and creamy Butter Chicken. Chicken grilled in the tandoor, then simmered in buttery tomato based gravy. It was accompanied with a light cauliflower rice, which is an excellent idea for a naturally heavy dish!

Our biggest surprise of the evening was a Truffle Naan. Lightly fried roti drizzled with Italian truffle oil and rocket salad on top. It was incredibly soft and fresh. They were also not shy on truffle oil and you feel a strong hint of it with every bite.
