Did you know living on different Mont’ Kiara roads could seem like worlds apart, despite being relatively close?

The difference comes mainly from lifestyle amenities such as shopping malls, schools, or retail shop lots. While these differences may not be apparent to non-locals, they certainly do matter when it comes to rental rates. Let’s take a look at what sets the streets apart.

Jalan Kiara

This is the most lively & ‘happening’ street, stretching from 1 Mont’ Kiara to 28 Mont’ Kiara. Coming in from SPRINT highway, you are greeted by Plaza Mont’ Kiara, 1 Mont’ Kiara and Kiara 163. These shopping complexes are situated right next to each other, making it super convenient for mall hopping.

Apart from that, there is also Mont’ Kiara International School, which keeps the area bustling with students and parents on the school run. In the mornings and evenings, you will be sure to see parents enjoying a walk or jog with their kids.

With its lively nature, properties along Jalan Kiara such as those in Arcoris and La Grande Kiara are one of the most expensive to rent in the area.

Jalan Kiara 2

Branching out from the far side of Jalan Kiara is Jalan Kiara 2. This is the place to be if you prefer peace and quiet while still staying within a walkable distance to all the action.

A walk from Mont’ Kiara Aman condominium to Kiara 163 Mall is around 10 minutes (around 1km) – far enough from the noise but easily accessible. Continuing from Jalan Kiara, the walkway path of Jalan Kiara 2 is wide and shaded by big trees, making it comfortable and breezy even while the sun is blaring. Strolling along while listening to songs or your favourite podcast makes for an idyllic experience en route to grocery shopping or retail therapy.

Jalan Kiara 2 also plays host to Global Doctors International Medical Centre (IMC) which is reassuring in case of eventualities.

Jalan Kiara 3

Another street to consider for rent is Jalan Kiara 3. This street hosts Garden International School and a small group of cafes such as Kopenhagen Coffee and Kofi by 77 (Global Doctors Hospital is also on this street).

Jalan Kiara 3 is notable for housing the only connecting route between Mont’ Kiara and Segambut, which adds to the convenience of commuting but is also highly prone to congestion during peak hours.

Jalan Kiara 4 & Jalan Kiara 5

VERVE Shops is located in Jalan Kiara 5, a 3-storey shopping mall which is located below VERVE suites residence. You’ll find Jaya Grocer supermarket and Healthworks (a chiropractor and fitness center).

Jalan Kiara 4 is the street adjacent to Jalan Kiara and Jalan Kiara 3, a quiet street that seems to be an alternative access to condos such as Arcoris and Residensi 22.

Solaris, Jalan Solaris

If you are looking for Korean restaurants or some night life, then Solaris is the place to be. A quick Google search of “Korean food solaris” lists more than 10 Korean restaurants nestled among several local cuisine options – a testament to the huge Korean community in Mont’ Kiara.

Publika Shopping Gallery, Persiaran Dutamas

Publika is a trendy shopping mall located very close to Solaris, beside Wilayah Mosque and Government complexes.

Amongst the varied culinary fare on offer, a star attraction is the Publika Bazaar & Craft Market (also known as Fuyoh Art Bazaar) that pops up on weekends or as the season demands it. Here you’ll find local vendors selling their unique creations such as jewelry, perfume, trinkets, leather goods, and many other local products.

That completes our overview of the ‘Jalans’ in Mont’ Kiara! Hopefully by now you are better informed of the pros and cons of each street before deciding where to rent.
