This week we visited a sassy, vibrant LUT Gastrobar, located in TTDI. LUT features multidimensional flavours from around the world that represent their Chef’s ideology on food. Without getting attached to a single or fusion cuisine, they are able to serve the highest quality global dishes. You can find the menus, booking and other information here
Our Dining Experience:
We started our evening with a delightful spinach salad in miso and sesame salad dressing, garnished with rice puffs and grilled corn for crispy crunch. As we explored this enchantingly fresh spinach salad, we found out how perfectly paired all the ingredients were.
Every bite of this sweet and savoury spinach in sesame sauce made with fresh sesame seeds adds rich and nutty flavours to refreshing greens.
Next on the menu was Cauliflower aioli with soy caramel dressing and sprinkles of fresh parmesan. An interplay of savory, sweet and creative flavours, this once again Japanese- inspired dish is going to have you come back for more!
My partners favorite dish of the evening was Steamed White Clams in lobster broth with various Asian herbs, chili and lemongrass. The broth for the clams was her absolute, don’t you dare get in my dipping space, favorite part! It would have been exceptional if it was accompanied with a couple of slices of bread or toast.
Next up was LUTs’ signature Foie Gras Sandwich, and according to Chef Waymann their absolute best seller! Foie Gras is Sauteed and served in between two slices of buttered toasted bread. When it comes to food, many of us forego decadence and this sandwich by LUT might just blow your mind.
My absolute favorite dishes of the evening were a rare, cooked to perfection, steak that was melting in your mouth and Parmesan Gnocchi with a slow cooked egg, chicken, spinach and mushrooms. A bit of truffle is the magic ingredient that turns pillowy gnocchi into an extraordinary dish.
These two dishes, strongly highlight the Chef’s talent! On one hand you have a dish with incredibly simple presentation and cooked to perfection, while on another you have a world class presentation and an enormous amount of ingredients that compliment each other perfectly.
As we didn’t see any desserts on the menu, we assumed that our evening came to a satisfying conclusion. To our good surprise, they followed up with two stunning looking desserts! Whether you are full or still have space left to consume more, makes little difference here. At the first glance you forget the state you were in and you can’t wait to take a first bite of these mouth-watering desserts.
The deconstructed strawberry and raspberry cheesecake was magically rich-yet-light and exceptionally not too sweet. I can guarantee you will be coming back for more!
The chocolate mousse with cointreau ice cream was light and fluffy, yet extremely creamy and rich in chocolate. You can tell they are using a quality chocolate as flavour just shines through. A classic chocolate mousse made the proper French way, as served in many fine dining restaurants in Paris.
