Swaadisht KL is situated just on the outskirts of KL, very nearby Bukit Nanas.  Swaadisht offers a sophisticated dining experience offering deliciously authentic North Indian cuisine as well as a selection of non spicy dishes for those of you who might not be in the mood for some Indian spice!

Swaadisht KL has very recently opened and has a very clean crisp feel inside, fully air conditioned, with brand new, high quality Indian themed furnishings and decor.  You can also sit outside if you prefer, where they have ample space and seating using barrel type tables and stools.  There is street parking right outside as well and if that’s not available then there is plenty of spaces nearby too.

Dining Area With Bar Area To Rear

The cosy, eye catching interior with comfortable seating is great for couples, families or even company dinners.  Specialising in Indian cuisine, they have an extensive menu with a wide range of Indian dishes, appetizers and main courses, aswell as a Signature BBQ section.

Bar Area

To the rear of the restaurant you can find the bar area where there is also stool seating and a kitchen area hidden away to the rear of the bar area.  They serve a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages including beer, wine, mocktails and cocktails.

Our Dining Experience

We arrived around 6pm and there were 3 of us dining today.  We love Indian food and have tried quite a few places in Malaysia so far, so we thought we would put this place to the test, and we were not disappointed!  The staff were very friendly, we ordered a lot of drinks that were brought to us very quickly, every time!  We ordered 6 dishes in total for sharing between the 3 of us.

As expected, a bowl of papadums came first along with the sauces and as you might expect in any authentic Indian restaurant came without the need to order them!

Papadums

The next dish was ordered from the starter section of the menu called Amritsari Aloo Tikki RM 15 served on an elongated plate consisting of 3 fried mashed potato “patties” topped with a sweet, tangy tamarind sauce and spicy green sauce along with a separate helping of yogurt served on the side, all resting on a bed of crispy lettuce and topped with leaves of parsley.

Next out was the Chicken Hot & Sour Soup RM 18 also ordered from the starter section.  This was a large portion and simply delicious!  Made with plenty of shredded chicken, cooked with seasonal vegetables, soy sauce and vinegar.

It was sufficiently spicy and hot, great to prepare your appetite for yet more delicious hot and spicy food!  It also went very well with the Garlic Naan Bread RM 10.

Next was the main courses and first out was from the rice section called the Dum Chicken Biryani RM 30 which consists of Aromatic basmati rice cooked with succulent pieces of chicken, herbs & biryani spices served with dhal, yogurt & salad.

Dum Chicken Biryani RM 30

To go with the rice we ordered Butter Chicken RM 30 from the meat section which consists of chunks of aromatic chicken cooked in a rich, creamy curry sauce.  This was quite a mild dish and complimented well the Garlic Naan Bread and Biryani rice.  Definitely our favourite of the evening!

The final dish to arrive ordered from their Signature BBQ section was the Salmon Tandoori RM 65 which consists of fresh salmon marinated with roasted spices and barbequed traditional tandoori style.

Served with slightly crispy, fresh seasonal vegetables, onion, garlic and topped with fresh parsley and a slice of lemon for squeezing and pleasing!  The salmon was cooked just perfectly and fell apart with just a nudge of the fork.

Summary

If you like authentic Indian cuisine at a reasonable price in comfortable, clean surroundings then this place should definitely be on your list of places to visit!  All the food was fresh, tasty and well presented by friendly staff in a very clean, cosy environment.  Suitable for couples, family groups and business lunches.

Swaadisht is a brand new, reasonably priced restaurant just waiting to be discovered!  Excellent if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre but yet close enough to reach in taxi or own car in just a few minutes with plenty of parking in the area too!

Thank you very much to Swaadisht, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and we will definitely see you again soon!
