Our Dining Experience

We arrived around 6pm for dinner before it got busy, a better time for us to take photos.  There were 4 of us dining today and we decided to sit inside.  We ordered 5 starters, some of which were for sharing between us, 4 main courses and 2 desserts.  The staff were efficient and friendly and dealt with our orders promptly.  We were ordering from their old menu, they now have a brand new revamped menu which you can see here.

First out was the Sauteed Wild Mushrooms starter. A generous serving of hot, mixed fried wild mushrooms prepared with garlic, fresh basil, parsley and olive oil, all served on an elongated platter with pieces of lightly toasted, sliced baguette type bread, plenty to share between the 4 of us.

Then came the Greek Salad which was my favourite starter.  Served slightly chilled and very well presented with fresh and crispy mixed leaves of lettuce, onions and capsicum all tossed in balsamic vinegar dressing and extra virgin olive oil, carefully dressed with sliced black olives, small cubes of feta cheese and cherry tomatoes sliced in half.

The 2 Broccoli Soups that we ordered were served piping hot with a long piece of lightly toasted garlic bread on the side.

The last of the starters and served at the same time as the soups was the delicious, typically Italian Bruschetta Pomodoro which consists of 4 pieces of fresh, lightly toasted bread topped with fresh diced tomatoes, garlic, basil and extra virgin olive oil.

After all those delicious taste bud teasers we were now ready for our main courses!  First out was the Beef Wellington which was simply awesome!  Served medium rare as requested this succulent, tenderloin steak with well marbled fat was wrapped in freshly baked, golden puff pastry together with mushroom ragout.  Very well presented and served with garlic butter, crispy broccoli and green beans, a basket of potato fries and au jus gravy.

The Grilled Salmon was out next and did not disappoint either, Naked certainly are excelling themselves on presentation here.  This super fresh and succulent salmon simply melted in the mouth and fell apart with just a nudge of the fork.  Served with homemade creamy mashed potato, tomato and mango salsa and topped with fresh herbs.  Very often salmon can be served over cooked but this was cooked to perfection.

The Oven Roasted Half Spring Chicken was super tender and served with sauteed green beans topped with wild mushroom ragout, a basket of potato fries and a separate serving of rosemary jus.

The last main to arrive was Fish And Chips, served in the ever popular and well loved typically British way with crispy golden beer battered fish, potato fries, a separate helping of tartar sauce served on the side and of course a fresh piece of lemon for squeezing and pleasing!

Last of all was the desserts.  I personally never have dessert when I eat out so these were for the ladies!  Both of the desserts we ordered were recommended to us by one of the waiters and judging by the look on the women’s faces, they didn’t disappoint!  First was the Naked Affogato which consists of Expresso, chocolate cookies, Haagen-Dazs ice cream, fresh whipped cream and topped with grated dark chocolate.

Next was the Chocolate Fondant which consists of almond praline and white chocolate ganache.  A deliciously crispy outer layer of biscuit which was just dying to be cracked open to reveal an abundance of hot chocolate fondant liquid inside.

Summary

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Naked Restaurant KL, the food was excellent, well presented and delivered with a smile by friendly, efficient waiters and staff.  We sat inside but I really liked their spacious open air terrace.  It had such a relaxing feel to it with the low sofas and low tables, once seated, you feel like you never want to get up and leave!

Our favourite two dishes of the evening were the Greek Salad and the Beef Wellington.  A big thank you to the chef on his outstanding presentation skills, this was noticed by not only me but all four of us during the course of the evening.  Couldn’t resist sharing another photo with you of the Beef Wellington!

Definitely worth a visit to experience great food in a great atmosphere and to check out their live entertainment which comes a bit later in the evening, unfortunately we came too early to check this out but we will be back again for more!
