A 26-year-old Malaysian smashed his car into a toll booth gantry in Butterworth, Penang on May 19.
But the position in which his car ended up became the latest internet mystery.
In a tweet yesterday (May 21), Jason Ng posted a photo of the car with the toll booth barrier stuck inside it. Surprisingly, no windows were broken and many wondered how the car ended up in this situation.
You don’t ask how, why, when, or where for feats like these.
You say “WHAT THE F-“ then go straight to ask “who?”
And the answer is Penang driver. It’s always a Penang driver. pic.twitter.com/or8QGjAX4y

The tweet has gained 2,000 retweets as of today.
“You don’t ask how, why, when, or where for feats like these,” shared Ng, who was dumbfounded at how the car and the driver managed to escape unscathed even with the barrier inside the car.
He concluded that only drivers from Penang are able to pull off this feat – they are apparently notorious for driving recklessly.
Needless to say, the weird situation also raised questions from other Twitter users, who tried to comprehend what they were seeing.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED
In a one-minute 17-second video clip, the driver can be seen crashing into the barrier at the fourth toll plaza.
The driver then tried to reverse his car, and the barrier pierced through the driver window.
A source said the driver did not manage to hit the brakes in time. No casualties were reported during the incident.
The driver was issued a summons under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for failing to exercise due control over movements of a vehicle.
