Garlic bread can speak volumes for about a restaurant. Bello’s garlic bread is fresh and has a lovely home-cooked feel, topped off with an extra side of cheesy garlic butter. Bello are definitely on to a winner with this dish, best garlic bread I have had in KL.
When we arrived, Mei Ling the marketing manager helped us pick an array of food, from pasta, pizza, chicken to tiramisu… We asked for a feast and Chef Federico delivered.
We started off with a duck salami and olives. Ideal to accompany many the appetizers on the menu.
The stand out dish, was undoubtedly the fresh pasta: Papardelle Bolognese with stewed beef ragout in tomato sauce. Pasta cooked perfectly, sauce extra flavourful. Top marks to Chef Federico.
Of course you can’t go to an Italian without trying the pizza, Bello is home to the only wood-fired pizza over in Pavilion. We went for the Pizza Diavola and the Pizza Anatra. One thing I really like about Bello’s pizza, is you can order a medium sized, just enough for a work lunch. You won’t be half as tempted to fall asleep once you are back at your desk, an issue for that many of us find very difficult to overcome.
Pizza Anatra, pumpkin puree, for those that like to try something different, this is the pizza for you.
On to the deserts, first up was the Valrhona Chocolate Cake, rich… warm… dripping with chocolate once you break the exterior. Simple, yet high effective.
Finally, we finished with a tiramisu, the classic coffee flavour Italian desert.
Overall, it was a very pleasant afternoon spent at Bello. Value for money is excellent, you can have a nice dinner and not break the bank. Make sure you try the fresh pastas, they are delicious.
