This is an educational walk incubated by People Ideas Culture 人思文. This place making walk means to showcase what could urban intervention and initiative from the local stakeholders could play in further enhancing the vitality of the neighbourhood. This walk is more inclined towards those who appreciate the architecture, landscape and urban regeneration topics.
This walk is incubated after winning the first prize in a place making workshop organized by YPLab (Young Professional Lab) under the wing of Malaysia Institute of Architects. As both an overarching idea and a hands-on approach for improving a neighbourhood, city, or region, Place Making inspires people to collectively reimagine and reinvent public spaces as the heart of every community. Strengthening the connection between people and the places they share, Place making refers to a collaborative process by which we can shape our public realm in order to maximize shared value. More than just promoting better urban design, Place making facilitates creative patterns of use, paying particular attention to the physical, cultural, and social identities that define a place and support its ongoing evolution. After the walk, hopefully it will make you reflect for your own city and neighbourhood.
