About the BORDAUX REGION

Bordeaux’s highest-quality red wines generally come from seven major appellations: Saint-Estephe, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, and Margaux in the greater Medoc region, Graves to the south of the city of Bordeaux, and Pomerol and Saint-Emilion to the east (an area commonly referred to as the “Right Bank”).

At the same time, the best dry white wines come from the large Graves region, while the finest sweet wines are made in Sauternes and Barsac, enclaves within the southern reaches of the Graves appellation.

ABOUT THE WINES

CORDIER LABOTTIÈRE – (BORDEAUX)
Presentation
«Labottière», a XVIIIth century Château, is one of the longest established brand names of Bordeaux. It is Cordier’s ambassador for the Bordeaux appellation exclusively reserved for a clientele of restaurant or wine-shop owners and to private customers both at home and abroad.

Grape varieties
60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon

Tasting note
This fresh, crisp white wine combines the floral, white fruit hints of Semillon with the citrus and passion fruit of Sauvignon. This charming wine will be a good companion for sea fruits, tuna or salmon carpaccio, scallop brochettes.

CHÂTEAU LA TUILERIE (Blanc) – (GRAVES – VINTAGE 2012)
Club Cordier
Since 1886, Maison Cordier has been known as a Grands Vins de Bordeaux maker. The château La Tuilerie which has joined the Club Cordier partnership agrees to meet Cordier’s quality requirements in both vine culture and wine vinification.

Presentation
The vineyard of this château is famous for having belonged to Jeanne de Lestonac, the niece of the famous 16th century French author, Michel de Montaigne. The Dubreys have been winegrowers since the 17th century and have succeeded in developing and establishing the reputation of their wine.

Tasting note
The colour of this wine is clear with straw yellow tints. Aromas of hazelnut and dried fruit combine with citrus fruit in the bouquet. The attack il supple and well balanced with good
structure and nicely controlled liveliness in the finish. Between 10°C and 12°C

CHÂTEAU ROC DE CANDALE – (SAINT-ÉMILION GRAND CRU)
Presentation
The vines of Château Roc de Candale are planted in plots of sandy and clay-sand soils, located primarily at the foot of the nearby hillside. These conditions demand a different type of work in the vineyard, and allow us to produce a wine which is more rounded, supple and flavoursome – and thus more accessible.

Tasting note
The nose opens with prominent notes of candied fruits, backed with a very elegant touch of vanilla. The palate is highly aromatic, with strong dark fruit (blueberry, redcurrant) and a great deal of freshness, underpinned by silky-smooth tannins. The finish is long and expansive, with the appearance of subtle grilled aromas.

CHÂTEAU ANDRON – (MÉDOC)
Presentation
Château Andron is a family property located in Médoc, where it benefits from a microclimate (it is close by Gironde estuary and Atlantic Ocean), reducing the freeze risk and developing the grapevine. Today, Jean François Desalmand and José Castells, 7th generation, follow their ancestors work in a spirit of family tradition.

Tasting note
With its silky and intense dalhia colour robe, this wine develops strong and matured grapes on the nose, as well as peppery nuances and powerful black fruits aromas (blueberry, blackberry and blackcurrant). The mouth is structured, straightforward with an elegant fruity character. This modern wine will seduce the amateurs. Between 16°C and 18°C, it will perfectly match fowl and meats.
