Food and culture take center stage at the 8th Latin American Festival to be held at BBpark on this 22 May 2016. The Festival will offer a glimpse of the Latin American diversity of tastes, colours, rhythms and joy.
The celebration of the colourful vibrant cultures of the Americas and the Caribbean, is organized by the Group of Latin America and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) in Malaysia, consisting of 10 Embassies in Malaysia.
In collaboration with the Plaza Low Yat, the Latin Ladies Association of Malaysia and supported by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), the Latin American Festival is positioned to help strengthen the relationship between Malaysia and the Latin American region.
During the Festival, visitors will be able to experience firsthand the rich, diversified, and passionate culture of Latin America and the Caribbean with the Embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela showcasing their culture with a dedicated stall to sell their typical food and beverages and promote original handicrafts and tourism information.
Other activities include live Latin music and dance performances; a lucky draw with attractive prizes such as flight ticket to Amsterdam donated by Air France-KLM, as well as tablets and smartphones; and many more for visitors to see, taste, and enjoy the biggest Latin American celebration in Malaysia.
Visitors will also be doing good while they experience the colourful Festival which is organized every year to support charity programmes devoted to Malaysian children and other institutions in need. This year is no difference as Plaza Low Yat and the Latin American Ladies Association will join effort to gather the proceeds from the Festival and donate them to KIRTARSH; a non-profitable home established to shelter and care for special and underprivileged children from all racial and religious background.
