This is a charity and donation event organized for and in the memory of the families and the victims of the #COLECTIV fire in Bucharest, Romania on 30 October, when 50 young people died and more than seventy are hospitalised and seriously wounded. Dozens of people injured in the blaze remain hospitalized with serious burns as authorities warn that the death toll could continue to rise.
You are cordially invited to enjoy a night of smiles and laughs at the screening of the movie The rest is silence, a dark comedy with an extraordinary sense of humour and an amazing acting crew, all of them under the genius of the great Nae Caranfil, one of the best Romanian directors of the new cinema. Nae Caranfil has an extensive career in directing and has created movies such as Philantropy which was a huge international success, awarded at renowned European festivals.
Romania continues to send the injured to other countries for treatment. A plane from NATO arrived in Bucharest late Sunday and will take a number of the injured for treatment overnight to Britain and Norway, emergency situations official Raed Arafat said.
In recent days, a total of 21 injured people have been transported to hospitals in Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Israel and Germany, the health ministry said.
A fire broke out at the Colectiv nightclub during a concert by the heavy metal group, after a spark from a pyrotechnics show ignited foam decor. The band’s two guitarists died last week from their injuries.
The funds that will be raised will be donated to the victims and their families. They have a dark recovery path to walk and they will need all our support to win back in this terrible struggle.
